Cure Adds Proven Goal Scorer

As its third selection in the 2010 BSL draft, the St. Louis Cure have chosen a striker who knows how to finish. Buddle, with 73 career goals, is one of the most potent goalscorers around. And at the age of 28, Buddle is in his prime. GM/Coach Kirk Lodes, "Buddle may be the steal of the draft. He is a player who can easily end the season with 10, even 15 goals. Again, it all depends on his health. We feel that after a down season in 2009, where he only started 13 games, Buddle will be hungry to find the back of the net in 2010. He is another vital piece of the winning squad we are building here in St. Louis."

Cure Nabs Its Playmaker

St. Louis Cure GM/Coach has announced the club has signed Javier Morales as its second round draft pick. In the past 3 years, the creative and flashy Argentinian has collected 22 assists. He joins Real Salt Lake striker Robbie Findley as the first two members of the 2010 Cure squad. Lodes: "I am very pleased that we are able to select such a talented playmaker. I can confidently say that Morales is the best midfielder in the league. He is in his prime, he is motivated and he is devoted to winning. If he stays healthy, Morales should be able to collect MVP-type numbers." With the Morales signing, the first two members of the 2010 roster arrive from the MLS Champion Real Salt Lake.

FINDLEY IT IS!

The St. Louis Cure Soccer Club proudly announced today their first pick in the BSL draft is Real Salt Lake forward Robbie Findley. Findley had a breakout year in 2009, scoring 12 goals while chipping in 4 assists. Kirk Lodes, GM/Coach: "We know picking such a young player as our number 1 draft choice is a risky move. But we believe the sky is the limit for Findley. His amazing talent made it too tough to pass up. Findley's speed and athleticism is first class; he is the ideal player to lead our front line and it would not shock me if Findley ends up leading the league in goalscoring in 2010."

THE CURE TO THE WINTER BLUES

Welcome to the St. Louis Cure Soccer Club. This organization was originally formed in 1996 and has participated in numerous leagues in the last 14 years. We are VERY excited to join the Big Time Soccer League for our 15th year in operation. Currently, Coach/GM/CEO and Owner Kirk Lodes is busy evaluating talent in preparation for the coming draft. Lodes, author of The American Soccer Guide, a statistical reference dedicated to American Professional Soccer, has very realistic expectations for the coming year. The Cure has never won a championship in its 14 year history and is hoping for a top 5 finish in its inaugral Big Time season. Lodes: "As a soccer historian, you'd think I'd have an edge over opposing coaches. Sadly that has not been the case in the past. Hopefully, I can use my statistical knowledge to steer the Cure to the playoffs. Regardless, this league seems to be an amazing operation; the season is going to be exciting and very fun." The Cure thanks all the fellow teams and Big Time Soccer owner for the opportunity to compete.
