The St. Louis Cure continues to build its team, selecting another member of the MLS champions Real Salt Lake and another player with local ties. With its eight pick, the Cure took RSL forward/midfielder Fabian Espindola. GM/Coach Kirk Lodes, "I've had my eye on Fabian since he arrived in MLS. The guy is a magician with the ball who has unlimited potential. Last year was tough for him, as he was overcoming injuries and proved to be rather rusty during his limited appearances. He'll be eager to make waves in 2010." The Cure's defense is going to be built around Matt Pickens, a Missouri St. graduate who has played with Colorado and Chicago and also had a short stint in England. Lodes, "Pickens is a veteran keeper who hasn't even hit his peak yet. His ability will make us a difficult team to score against."
